The work contained within
this site seeks to identify whether it is useful to categorise work by specific artists,
specific artworks, artworks created using specific material(s) or
artworks created through
a defined process as "Information Art". The 'usefulness' of the term will be assessed
by its ability to bring new insight, or clarity of understanding about
the work being considered. This site has been created in support of my PhD study beginning September 1998 at Exeter School of Art & Design, University of Plymouth, entitled Some Other Kind of Information: Informational Relationships and Art Systems. This is supervised by Professor Colin Beardon and Stuart Mealing. |
